I definitely benefited from the coaching programme. I really enjoyed the prompts for self-reflection and have ‘paid this forward’ as much as possible, with my family, team and friends! I can struggle with maintaining good habits and will continue to work on this. But even if I ‘lose my mojo’ for a while, now I feel confident I could go back to the programme myself. Also, it has helped me recognize that small changes are important. Listening to a 5-minute meditation in the car before you go into work, can do wonders!
In terms of helping with stress and burnout it made me focus more internally (what can I do myself, who am I, what do I need, what can I change/influence etc) as opposed to the habit of focusing on/blaming / putting up with / accepting the external factors, that can so easily affect self-care and work/life balance when you have a demanding job.
I particularly enjoyed the strengths and personal values exercises. The first session was great to show a holistic view of how many small things can really add up to impact overall wellbeing. Some questions were very thought-provoking e.g. personal boundaries.
I feel that one -to-one is much more effective for a programme like this, it allows opportunity to open up more quickly and also potentially tailor the programme to suit the individual.
I would recommend Janice for anyone wanting some space to ‘take stock’ and reflect on their own wellbeing.
